The CITY DISCOvery Story: Freddy “Funk”
Once upon a time, in the bustling heart of New York City, there lived a man named Freddy (born Fred). Freddy was no ordinary fellow – he was a visionary, a dreamer, and a lover of all things disco. From the moment he first heard the funky beats and saw the shimmering lights of the disco ball, Freddy was hooked, and started his transformation into the alter-ego that is now referred to as FREDDY FUNK. Freddy was not initially comfortable dancing to disco anywhere outside of his home so he would wear a mask as a kid (initially a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask) when he wanted to dance in public to be comfortable and let his disco dance moves fly.
But Freddy had another passion, one that ignited his adventurous spirit – city scavenger hunts. There was something magical about exploring the nooks and crannies of the urban landscape, uncovering hidden treasures and solving puzzles along the way.
Years later, as Freddy was dancing his way through the streets of his beloved city of New York, inspiration struck like a bolt of lightning. What if he could combine his two greatest loves – disco and city scavenger hunts – into one exhilarating experience? The idea thrilled him to his core, and thus, CITY DISCOvery was born.
With boundless enthusiasm and unwavering determination, Freddy set out to bring his vision to life. He gathered a team of like-minded individuals – fellow disco enthusiasts, creative thinkers, and adventurous souls – and together, they embarked on a mission to create the ultimate disco-themed city scavenger hunts – with a masquerade twist to help dancers feel as comfortable dancing just like Freddy needed as a kid.
From designing intricate clues that led participants on a journey through iconic landmarks and hidden gems, to infusing every aspect of the scavenger hunts with the spirit of disco – from glittering decorations to funky music playlists – Freddy and his team poured their hearts and souls into every detail.
Freddy wanted to attract couples looking for a memorable date night, families seeking an adventure together, and groups of friends eager for a new thrill. Freddy and his team strive to inspire others to embrace their passions, follow their dreams, and dance through life with boundless joy and enthusiasm. Freddy looks to take his love for CITY scavenger hunts and DISCO into the hearts of all with CITY DISCOvery!
